FAYETTEVILLE — The most grueling beginning to a conference schedule in Arkansas basketball history comes to a close today inside Bud Walton Arena.
The Razorbacks (11-4, 0-2 SEC) will host No. 8 Florida (14-1, 1-1) Saturday, following up losses to No. 1 Tennessee and No. 22 Ole Miss in the Hogs’ first two league games. The Razorbacks have never opened conference action — in the SEC or the old Southwest Conference — by facing three straight, top-25 opponents.
Arkansas is trying to avoid a second straight season with an 0-3 start in the SEC. The Hogs get a slight reprieve after Saturday, with their next two games coming on against unranked LSU and Missouri, but the Razorbacks will be on the road for both contests.
Florida is coming off a 30-point thumping over Tennessee. In their first SEC game of the season, the Gators scored 100 points inside Rupp Arena and still lost to Kentucky by six.
